華盛頓州立大學(xué)杰出教授王勇博士來我院“化工學(xué)術(shù)大講堂”作學(xué)術(shù)報告

2018年10月8日下午14:00,beat365杰出校友、華盛頓州立大學(xué)王勇教授做客化工學(xué)術(shù)大講堂,以“Single atom catalysts by atom trapping”為題在四川大學(xué)江安校區(qū)法學(xué)大樓主樓報告廳作了精彩的學(xué)術(shù)報告,此次學(xué)術(shù)報告由beat365劉長軍老師主持,來自beat365的部分教師、碩博研究生和本科生參加了此次學(xué)術(shù)活動。

王勇教授向同學(xué)們介紹了華盛頓州立大學(xué)的基本情況及其課題組的研究成果,闡述生動,引起了在場師生的濃厚興趣。隨后,王勇教授介紹了汽車尾氣催化劑對高低溫活性和高溫穩(wěn)定性這一極具挑戰(zhàn)性的課題,以及如何通過鎂鋁尖晶石新制備方法,控制載體結(jié)構(gòu),建立載體與活性組分在原子尺度上的強(qiáng)相互作用,從而解決了提高高低溫活性催化劑的高溫穩(wěn)定性。同時介紹了在二氧化鈰(CeO2)上原子分散的離子鉑(Pt2+)如何通過蒸汽處理(在750℃)進(jìn)行活化,這種單原子非均相催化劑處理改善了反應(yīng)條件,實(shí)現(xiàn)了低溫一氧化碳(CO)氧化活性。還原離子鉑(Pt2+)所得的鉑負(fù)載在二氧化鈰(CeO2)上的催化劑,改善了其對汽車尾氣成分的氧化活性。王勇教授在講解科研成果的同時,他還與在場師生分享了自己科研過程中的寶貴經(jīng)驗(yàn),鼓勵大家在科學(xué)研究中要深入鉆研,格物窮理。

在互動環(huán)節(jié)中,師生們踴躍提問,王勇教授深入淺出地對相關(guān)問題進(jìn)行了細(xì)致解答,并與現(xiàn)場師生進(jìn)行了熱烈的交流探討,現(xiàn)場學(xué)術(shù)氛圍十分濃厚。整場報告內(nèi)容豐富,使參會者受益匪淺,大家以熱烈的掌聲感謝王勇教授的報告。報告的最后,王勇教授與參加報告的師生合影留念。

報告專家簡介:

Dr. Wang graduated from Chengdu University of Science and Technology (now Sichuan University) with B.S. and M.S. degrees in chemical engineering. He received his PhD degree in Chemical Engineering from Washington State University (WSU) in 1993. He joined Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) in 1994 as a postdoc, and was promoted to laboratory Fellow in 2005. He has served as the Associate Director of the Institute for Integrated Catalysis at PNNL (http://iic.pnl.gov) since 2008. In 2009, Dr. Wang took a joint appointment at PNNL and WSU. In this unique position, he continues to be a Laboratory Fellow and associate director of IIC at PNNL and is the endowed Voiland Distinguished Professor in Chemical Engineering at WSU. Dr. Wang is best known for his leadership in the development of novel catalytic materials and reaction engineering to address the issues related to energy and atom efficiency related to the conversion of fossil and biomass feedstocks to fuels and chemicals. Dr. Wang has authored 270 peer reviewed publications (H index=70 and >20,000 citations. He has co-edited 2 books and 5 special journal issues, and given more than 200 invited presentations. He is the inventor on 270 issued patents including 108 issued U.S. patents (>90% of his patents are licensed to industries). He is elected to National Academy of Inventors and Washington State Academy of Sciences. He is a fellow of AIChE (American Institute of Chemical Engineers), ACS (American Society of Chemistry), RSC (Royal Society of Chemistry), and AAAS (American Association of the Advancement of Science). He has won numerous awards including 2017 ACS I&EC Division Fellow Award, 2006 Asian American Engineer of the Year Award, Presidential Green Chemistry Award, 3 R&D 100 Awards, Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award from WSU, 2 PNNL Inventor of the Year Awards, Battelle Distinguished Inventor Award, and the first recipient of PNNL Laboratory Director’s Award for Exceptional Scientific Achievement Award. He is the past chair of the Energy & Fuel Division of the American Chemical Society, and currently serves the ACS National Award Committee and editorial board of 8 catalysis and energy related journals including ACS Catalysis and Catalysis Today.
